I have found that this does not reliably block snapchat, at least not from a wifi connected ios device. It did appear to work one night, and then didn't the next day. I've noticed the dns entries for snapchat appear to be dynamic and really shows how unsafe the app really is for teens.
Nov 21, 2016 · The parent simply clicks the app they want to block and then apply changes. Typically within 5 – 10 minutes those apps will stop working. They still show up on the device of course, but accessing new content is no longer possible. When blocking is no longer needed, the parent simply clicks the app again, and it shows up in the allowed list.

Jul 26, 2017 · I have blocked several of the OpenDNS categories associated with Snapchat, so I have the domain "Snapchat.com" set to Never Block. With that domain allowed, most of the features work on the app; however, it won't allow the app to refresh (with Snapchat's location-based filters, etc). If I switch to using cell data, the app will refresh.
